Blue Sky Home Care (“Blue Sky,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the individuals and families we serve. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through blueskyhomecare.ca(the “Site”) and our intake forms, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. What we collect
When you submit an intake form, we collect:
- Your name
- Email address
- Phone number (required for complex / long-term care inquiries)
- How you heard about us
- Your preferences (preferred contact method, whether you'd like an in-home assessment, type of support, whether you're inquiring for yourself or someone else)
- Any notes or context you choose to share with us
When you visit the Site, we collect limited technical information to operate and improve the Site: your IP address (truncated to a network range for our audit records), browser user-agent, and aggregate visit statistics through Vercel Analytics, which is a cookie-less analytics service.
2. Why we collect it
We use your personal information to:
- Respond to your inquiry and arrange a consultation or assessment
- Coordinate care services if you choose to engage us
- Maintain a private, auditable record of intake submissions
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
- Protect the security and integrity of our Site (e.g. rate limiting)
We will not use your information for unrelated purposes without your consent. We do not sell personal information.
3. How we store and protect it
Intake submissions are emailed to authorized members of our team and stored as a private encrypted PDF on Vercel Blob, a third-party storage service. Access to the storage is restricted to authorized personnel via unguessable, non-listed URLs. The Site is served over HTTPS with industry-standard security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Content-Type-Options, etc.).
We retain intake records for as long as needed to provide the services you have requested and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. You may request earlier deletion (see “Your rights” below).
4. Service providers
We use the following processors, each bound by their own privacy and security terms:
- Resend— transactional email delivery for intake notifications.
- Vercel— website hosting, Vercel Blob storage, and privacy-friendly analytics.
Some of these providers may process your information outside Canada. By submitting a form, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to and processed in other countries, where it remains subject to equivalent privacy protections under contractual safeguards.
5. Cookies and tracking
We do not set marketing or third-party tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics measures aggregate usage without setting cookies or identifying individual visitors.
6. Your rights
Under PIPA and PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw your consent (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
- Request deletion of your information where we are not required to retain it
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@blueskyhomecare.ca or call us at (250) 940-7070. We respond to requests within 30 days.
7. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first so we can address it. If you remain unsatisfied, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated to active clients.
